Dakar, April 9 (APS) – The new Minister of the Interior and Public Security, General Jean Baptiste Tine, promised to place his action in a dynamic of proximity and inclusion while taking into account respect for dignity human.
“More and more, state security comes into conflict with human security (…) It is a matter of reconciling the two without exception by focusing on our fellow citizens through proximity but above all through inclusiveness; discuss with our fellow citizens, humanize our action, respect human rights and take human dignity into account,” he declared.
General Jean Baptiste Tine spoke on Monday during the traditional handover ceremony with his predecessor Mouhamadou Makhtar Cissé.
According to him, “the Head of State attaches importance to the protection of people and property of course, but also to tranquility and public order for the benefit of our fellow citizens”.
The former High Commander of the National Gendarmerie intends to carry out broad consultations with all the executives of his department, stressing that one of the objectives of the regime is “the search for economic efficiency and social progress which are targeted as a priority by the public authority”.
General Jean Baptiste Tine is one of those men who have a sense of duty, praised his predecessor. “Having known General Tine and having worked with him, I know that the choice made on his stars is not a matter of chance,” declared Mr. Cissé.
