Russian soldiers must always look neat, regardless of the presence or absence of a beard. This was stated by Colonel General Viktor Zavarzin, supporting the opinion of a colleague of General Viktor Sobolev, who entered into a dispute with the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, that soldiers should look neat even if they have a beard.

“The goal is not to shave or not to shave the beard, but to maintain hygiene whenever possible, during breaks [в боевых действиях]”, – Zavarzin explained, RBC reports. He noted that the military can wear a beard, as long as it looks neat. According to him, commanders should set an example and create the necessary conditions. At the same time, the general clarified that the Ministry of Defense is closely monitoring the nutrition and hygiene of soldiers, and is also taking the issue of logistics seriously.

Victor Zavarzin emphasized that the Russian army has always been valuable for its neat appearance and proud posture of servicemen. According to him, the appearance directly affects the internal state of each warrior, and therefore affects the overall discipline.

Earlier, rumors spread in the telegram channels of military correspondents that the military of the Russian Federation in the NVO zone would allegedly be forbidden to wear beards. However, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, denied them. At the same time, Ramzan Kadyrov called such a ban “an obvious provocation, which is designed to extinguish the morale of the fighters,” reports Tsargrad. He noted that “these bearded men” liberated Mariupol, Severodonetsk, Lisichansk and other cities, performing all the assigned tasks of the headquarters.
