The President of the Guinean transition took part in the opening ceremony of the 9th edition of the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing. On this occasion, General Mamadi Doumbouya explained to his counterpart Xi Jinping the challenges facing African countries, particularly Guinea.
In his speech, Lieutenant General Mamadi Doumbouya highlighted the major challenges facing the African continent. Among which, he cited in particular the modernization of the food industry and the promotion of culture which, according to him, must be at the center of the development program.
“It is in this perspective that, in the construction of our socio-economic development program called Simandou 2040, we have placed agriculture, the food industry, education and culture at the center of our concerns for the next 15 years. We are convinced that China-Africa cooperation will have to take up the challenge of diversifying investments on the continent, accelerating the agri-food industry and education to face the challenges of globalization,” declared the Head of State.
He added that “the Republic of Guinea recognizes the existence of only one China, the People’s Republic of China” and is proud to cooperate with his country.
