National Gendarmerie rescued this Saturday a 47-year-old climber who fell into the void when i climbed on Tunuyan, Mendoza. The man, with several injuries, but out of danger, was taken to a hospital where he was hospitalized.
It happened in the shelter sector of Arenales Drawer (Cordón del Potrillo), in the mountain range of Tunuyán. The “Alférez Portinari” Group, a mounted Gendarmerie patrol, worked at the scene.
The fall, which occurred on Friday but became known this Saturday, caused the climber to fractured an ankle, in addition to several other injuries to the left wrist and face.
When the rescuers arrived at the scene, the athlete was conscious and in great pain. He had an unexposed ankle fracture, and injuries to his left wrist and face.
The gendarmes assisted him, gave him first aid and gave him painkillers. He was then placed on a stretcher for the down a rocky pathsays Telam.
After the descent, he was taken by ambulance to the Antonio Scaravelli Hospital in Tunuyán, where X-rays and was hospitalized out of danger.
