The first information regarding the performance of the video card has appeared GeForce RTX 3050 in the mining of the Ethereum cryptocurrency. The data was provided to the VideoCardz portal by one of the Chinese sources. As it turned out, the card has the Lite Hash Rate algorithm, which reduces the hashrate of the accelerator by regarding half.
The source indicates that following the start of cryptocurrency mining, the GeForce RTX 3050 video card demonstrates a hashrate in the region of 20 Mhash / s, but literally in a second it drops to 12.5 Mhash / s. At the same time, the accelerator consumes 73 W of energy.
Similar results were provided by insider @wxnod. In his case, the card, following optimizing power consumption and memory frequency, showed a performance of 13.66 Mhash / s at a TDP of 57 watts.
With a recommended price of $250 for a video card, its payback at this level of hashrate will be regarding 500 days. But obviously the novelty will be sold more expensive, and already at a price of $350, it will be possible to recoup it only following 700 days. With Ethereum’s pending transition to a less energy-intensive Proof-of-Stake mining model, it makes no sense for miners to invest in the GeForce RTX 3050. Ready gamers!
