Now that Microsoft has finally completed the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, the company has taken control of some of the biggest franchises in the world of video games, making its future release calendar full of very interesting possibilities, but in addition, it should also bring new iterations of franchises that already belonged to its catalog previously, such as Gears of War.
Apparently, the sixth game in the franchise should arrive sooner than expected.
According to a post published by The Coalition level designer Benjamin Huyghe, Gears 6 might be released in 2024.
In response to a Happy Holidays post published by the game’s official X/Twitter account, Huyghe said “See you in 2024.” The answer doesn’t make it clear whether the release will take place next year or if he will start working at the studio in 2024, but it certainly raises suspicions.
Considering that we haven’t had a new Gears of War since 2019, the release would certainly be greatly appreciated by fans of the franchise.
Microsoft Gaming’s release calendar for next year is still unknown, with only Hellblade II and Ark 2 being the only ones confirmed so far.
Will Microsoft bring this surprise to its players?
