Oman Heritage and Tourism Minister says unified Gulf tourist visa will soon become a reality. The Minister said that the GCC Tourism Ministers have made a unanimous agreement regarding this.

Minister Salim Al Mahrooqi said this while speaking to Oman TV following attending the GCC Tourism Ministers’ meeting held at the Oman Across Ages Museum. A proposal for a unified tourism visa will be presented at a meeting of home ministers in Muscat in November.

The meeting also approved the decision to nominate Sur as the Arab Capital of Tourism in 2024. The coastal city of Sur hosts many events throughout the year to attract Gulf tourism.

With ministers reaching an agreement, the move to introduce a common visa system that would facilitate travel and boost local tourism gained momentum.

At the Future Hospitality Summit held in Abu Dhabi, the UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah Bin Took, had revealed the launch of a unified visa a few days ago.
