The UAE Ministry of Interior hosted the (15th) complementary meeting of the technical working group for the Security Network Project for the Ministries of Interior in the GCC countries, which was held during the period (1-2) May, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in the presence of representatives of the Gulf General Secretariat and members of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. .
The meeting was opened by Lieutenant Colonel Suhail Ibrahim Al-Kathiri, head of the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman, head of the current session, with a speech welcoming the heads of the delegations participating in this meeting, followed by a speech by the representative of the Assistant Secretariat for Security Affairs conveying the greetings and appreciation of Brigadier General Hamad Ajlan Al-Amimi, Assistant Secretary for Security Affairs in the General Secretariat of the Council cooperation.
The team discussed the terms of the meeting, stressing the importance of working and intensifying efforts to implement the decision of the thirty-ninth meeting of the interior ministers of the GCC states (General Secretariat November 9, 2022 AD) regarding the technical security linkage of the security network project for the ministries of interior in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The Communications Regulatory Authority and Digital Government in the UAE and Zajel Company gave a presentation on the mechanism of linking the GCC countries to a private network that was previously used and implemented between the UAE and some Gulf countries to connect traffic systems.
The meeting concluded with a review of the solutions reached by the concerned team, and recommendations that contribute to strengthening the joint Gulf security cooperation process for the security networks in the GCC countries between the ministries of interior in the GCC countries.
