Gazprom continues to send natural gas to Europe. Gazprom announced on Thursday that it will send today 41.7 million cubic meters of natural gas to Europe through Ukraine.
Gas accounts for regarding a quarter of the European Union’s power generation, and Russia typically supplies regarding 40% of the bloc’s natural gas imports.
Europe is also dealing with several economic shocks from the war in Ukraine, including rising food and energy prices that were further exacerbated by the conflict.
This situation has increased concerns regarding “stagflation”, a state of low economic growth and high inflation.
We recall that eurozone inflation reached a record level of 7.5% in March last year, as the war in Ukraine and subsequent sanctions once morest Russia increased energy prices.
