Gazprom supplies Europe with 42 million cubic meters of gas via Ukraine

The company representative indicated that the Ukrainian side rejected the request to pump through the Sukranovka station.

He added: “Gazprom will pump Russian gas on July 28, with transit through Ukraine in the amount confirmed by the Ukrainian side of 42 million cubic meters, via the Sudzha station. The Ukrainian side rejected the request to pump gas via the Sukranovka station.”

The company representative said that on July 27, 42.4 million cubic meters of Russian gas were pumped to Europe via Ukraine.

Earlier, the Ukrainian gas pipeline operator indicated on its website that gas transit through Ukraine on July 28 could reach about 42 million cubic meters.

The transit line through Ukraine remains the only way to supply Russian gas to Western and Central European countries. Pumping via the Nord Stream pipelines has stopped completely. Russian gas continues to be pumped via the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream pipelines, intended for Turkey and the countries of Southern and Southeast Europe.

Russian gas supplies through Ukraine have been in low volumes since May 2022, when the Ukrainian side announced the cessation of gas transit to Europe via the Sukharanovka terminal due to force majeure: the Ukrainian side claims that it cannot monitor the operation of the Novopskov pumping station in the Lugansk Republic. But Gazprom sees no reason to stop the pumping and not continue as before.
