Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the end of the blockade, calling Israel’s atrocities a clear violation of international law.
According to a statement issued by the official X account of the Prime Minister’s Office, Anwar Haq Kakar said that Pakistan is deeply concerned about the ongoing violence and loss of life in Gaza. And demand an end to the blockade.
The Caretaker Prime Minister said that Israel’s unjustified targeting of civilians in Gaza is against all principles of civilization and a clear violation of international laws.
He said that the end of violence needs to be seen in the context of years of usurpation and illegal occupation of Palestinian land and oppressive policies against its people.
He added that the United Nations and the international community should take action to open safe and unrestricted humanitarian corridors for the transport of urgently needed aid supplies to besieged Gaza.
Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that Pakistan is in close contact with the OIC and its member countries on the rapidly deteriorating situation in Gaza.
He said that Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani will attend an emergency meeting of the OIC Executive Committee on October 18 and will call for immediate steps to alleviate the sufferings of the people of Gaza.
