In the last 24 hours, the Israeli offensive has caused the death of at least 37 people in Gazaand 54 others were wounded, according to the latest report from the Health Ministry in the Strip, which is under Hamas control. This brings the total number of deaths to 38,919 since the start of the conflict, with the majority of the victims being women and children.

In addition, there are 89,622 injured, not counting the approximately 10,000 bodies that remain in the rubble, with no access for ambulances or rescue teams.

“The number of journalists killed has risen to 161,” the government of the devastated enclave denounced following recording the death of Mohamed Abu Jasser, who died in an Israeli bombing of his home in the town of Jabalia, in the north of the Strip.

Abu Jasser, his wife and two children are among the more than 25 deaths reported by authorities on Friday night and part of the six who died this Friday in Jabalia.

On Saturday morning, Israeli attacks continued across the Gaza Strip, especially in the north, where the army is maintaining an intense offensive in Gaza City, where it claims to be trying to neutralize militants who regrouped in the area following their incursion in the south.

The new round of violence in the Palestinian territory comes as Israel and Hamas remain locked in negotiations for a ceasefire agreement that would allow the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners, talks that are taking place in Cairo and Doha.

The Israeli army said 116 of the 251 hostages kidnapped on October 7 remain in the enclave, of whom 42 are dead.
