The Israeli military also accuses Hamas of “systematically violating international law and operating from civilian shelters, while using the population as a human shield.” Two days ago, the military specified that it had struck Hamas command and control centers in schools in the Daraj and Tuffah neighborhoods.

Egypt, a key mediator in the Middle East crisis, in a statement issued by its Foreign Ministry, has come out against the attack on the school in the center of Gaza City: “It has shown that Israel has no intention of reaching a ceasefire agreement and ending the war.” The attack came as mediators from the United States, Qatar and Egypt have renewed their pressure for the parties to reach a ceasefire agreement.
