In Jabalia, a makeshift tent set up at the Halima al Saadiyya school where displaced people have taken refuge was hit.
“There are about 3,000 to 3,500 people in this school. We were sleeping when suddenly a rocket fell on us. We woke up scared. We found witnesses, among them women and children,” said Ahmed Abd Rambo.
According to images released by AFP, the scene was destroyed, while traces of blood could be seen on a mattress and the ground.
In a nearby hospital, an elderly woman is anxiously waiting for information about her relatives. Other people cover the corpse of a victim.

Meanwhile, brokered negotiations to reach a truce have hit a snag at various points, notably over the issue of the Philadelphia Corridor – an area between Gaza and Egypt that Israel wants to retain control of – and the number and identity of the Palestinian prisoners to be released in exchange for the hostages.
