Gaza: Israel and Hamas have confirmed that Israel has launched a ground offensive in Gaza amid heavy airstrikes. Hamas said an Israeli soldier was killed in a ground attack east of Khan Younis in Gaza. Israel also confirmed this. Israel also reported that three people were injured.

The Israeli army says that the army carried out a controlled raid in Gaza. Military spokesman Daniel Hagari said it was to eliminate Hamas as it prepares for the next phase of the war. The ground attack was carried out in the name of finding 222 hostages. Hagari stated that one of his soldiers was killed and three wounded during the attack.

Meanwhile, Hamas said its fighters had encountered Israeli armored forces infiltrating southern Gaza. The incursion took place to the east of Khan Yunis. Hamas said it killed an Israeli soldier and destroyed military equipment.
