Gaza: United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said that Israel should be ready to immediately end all occupation activities in Palestine. The UN has also criticized Israel’s plans to build settlements. The UN says that Israel is driving conflict and violence and is the main obstacle to lasting peace. The chief added.

Major clashes erupted after Israeli forces raided the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on Monday. Five Palestinians, including a 15-year-old boy, were killed and more than 90 injured in the fierce clashes.

Israel is launching a large-scale offensive into occupied Palestine after a long hiatus of almost 20 years. The Israeli army responded that they came to the refugee camp in Jenin in search of two criminals. They informed yesterday that the rocket attack was carried out when some people in the camp first opened fire.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian group Hamas also retaliated for several hours with small arms and explosives. Al Jazeera reported that eight Israeli soldiers were wounded in the nearly 10-hour-long clash.

Antonio Guterres criticized Israel for violating international law. “The increase in such illegal encroachments is a major reason for the escalation of tensions and violence in the region. It makes human life difficult.

Israel is encroaching on Palestinian land and natural resources. They also impede the free movement of the Palestinian people. “Israel is undermining the Palestinian people’s legal rights to self-determination and sovereignty,” Antonio Guterres said.
