Gauges in sports arenas: towards more flexibility with the vaccination pass

How many spectators will there be in the sports arenas in February? The decree in force until January 23 provides for 2,000 people indoors, 5,000 outdoors. A new decree is in preparation and should be discussed in the Defense Council this Thursday. While deputies and senators tabled amendments concerning the gauges, it was the government that had the last word.

If it introduces the idea of proportionality, the law on the vaccination pass above all offers a certain flexibility, by allowing the threshold to be assessed locally. The decree will define the framework and should make it possible to adapt a gauge according to the characteristics of the sports arena and the health situation, assessed locally according to hospital indicators.

A possible full gauge in the event of an improvement in the situation?

The Ministry of Sports is working in collaboration on the subject with the Ministry of Health. Currently, the idea would be, in the event of a degraded situation, to put a gauge of 2,000 (indoors) or 5,000, plus one seat out of two, i.e. a capacity between half and two thirds of the total capacity.

If the situation were to improve quickly, one might imagine a full gauge, the vaccination pass then making it possible to reduce the risks of contamination. The arbitration will be rendered at the end of the week. It is watched with attention by football and rugby fans. In addition to PSG-Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday February 15 in the knockout stages of the Champions League, two matches of the Six Nations tournament are scheduled at the Stade de France on Sunday February 6 once morest Italy (60,000 seats sold) and on Sunday February 13 once morest Ireland (80,000 tickets).
