“Bile itself is formed in the liver,” explained gastroenterologist Daniela Purgina. – This is a solution that consists of bile acids, phospholipids, proteins, cholesterol, bilirubin and other substances.
The main function of bile is the breakdown of fats. It partially enters from the liver directly into the duodenum, part goes to the gallbladder, where it accumulates concentration, and following that it goes to the intestine.
– The work of the gallbladder is regulated by the neuropeptide hormone cholecystokinin, it is produced in the duodenum and in the initial section of the jejunum, – explained Dr. Purgina. – The essence of the work of cholecystokinin is that it stimulates contraction of the gallbladderRelaxes the sphincter of Oddi, increases the flow of bile from the liver, which leads to bile entering the duodenum.
