What helps an ulcer turn into cancer
In addition to active inflammation in the stomach, which has never been treated, certain medications contribute to this. According to Artur Bernacki, these include, for example, drugs for high blood pressure containing aspirin, and popular painkillers – the so-called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which are often taken for headaches and toothaches.
— A mistake that is often made when taking aspirin is to take a pill before bed, especially with only a sip of water. It is absolutely impossible to do so. Aspirin should be taken with a whole glass of water and taken only following meals, preferably following dinner. There is even such a thing as an aspirin ulcer – when the pill actually sticks to the wall of the stomach and begins to corrode the gastric mucosa, the gastroenterologist warned.
Coffee lovers and smokers are also at risk for peptic ulcers, especially if they are still addicted to painkillers.
— The man had breakfast, drank painkillers, washed down all this coffee and smoked – this is a classic of the genre, the triad of ulcersthe gastroenterologist recalled.
