Changes in Gasoline and Diesel Selling Prices at Gas Stations

Korea National Oil Corporation (President Kim Dong-seop), through the weekly price trend of domestic petroleum products of Opinet, an oil price information system, reported that the selling price of gasoline at gas stations in the 3rd week of June decreased by 6.6 won per liter to 1,575.8 won for 8 consecutive weeks, 8.7 won for diesel. Indoor kerosene recorded 1,331.1 won, down 7.0 won while falling 1,387.6 won for 9 consecutive weeks.
By brand, thrifty gas stations were cheaper, but GS Caltex brand gas stations were higher.
The average selling price of gasoline at thrifty gas stations was low at 1,548.7 won per liter, but at GS Caltex branded gas stations it was high at 1,584.1 won, showing a difference of 35.4 won.
The average selling price of diesel at thrifty gas stations was low at 1,357.4 won per liter, but at 1,398.8 won at GS Caltex brand gas stations, a difference of 41.4 won.
At SK Energy brand gas stations, gasoline decreased by 5.9 won to 1,582.4 won, diesel by 7.7 won to 1,396.5 won, and S-OIL brand gas stations with gasoline by 6.7 won to 1,576.6 won and diesel by 9.1 won to 1,382.9 won.
For HD Hyundai Oilbank branded gas stations, the price of gasoline decreased by 7.2 won to 1,575.1 won, diesel by 9.0 won to 1,388.2 won, and private label gas stations that were cheaper than thrifty gas stations, gasoline by 7.7 won to 1,558.3 won, and diesel by 11.1 won. It showed 1,379.7 won.
Gasoline sales prices by region were 1,644.1 won per liter, down 7.7 won from the previous week, and 68.3 won higher than the national average.
Jeju-do was ranked second in the country at 1,611 won per liter, with sales price of more than 1,600 won per liter, followed by Chungnam at 1,589 won, Gangwon-do at 1,587 won, Jeonnam at 1,586 won, Chungbuk at 1,585 won, Sejong at 1,578 won, and Gyeonggi-do at 1,574 won. 1,570 won in Jeonbuk, 1,566 won in Gyeongnam, 1,564 won in Gyeongbuk, 1,560 won in Busan, 1,559 won in Daejeon, 1,554 won in Incheon, and 1,545 won in Ulsan.
The selling price in Daegu, the lowest-priced region, was 1,539.4 won per liter, down 5.9 won from the previous week, 36.4 won lower than the national average.
In the second week of June, one week later than the selling price at gas stations, the supply price of gasoline increased by 6.3 won to 1,500.4 won per liter, diesel by 6.4 won to 1,301.6 won, and indoor kerosene by 18.8 won to 1,013.1 won.
As for the supply price by oil company, GS Caltex (CEO Heo Se-hong), which showed the highest price, was 1,518.0 won per liter, up 17.2 won from the previous week, and diesel price was the highest at 1,316.8 won, up 22.4 won from the previous week.
S-OIL (CEO Anwar Al Hiziazi) increased by 6.9 won to 1,514.5 won per liter of gasoline, and 1,315.3 won to diesel by 10.6 won.
SK Energy (CEO Cho Kyung-mok) showed gasoline prices at 1,483.4 won, up 2.7 won, and diesel prices at 1,282.7 won, down 3.4 won.
HD Hyundai Oilbank (CEO Ju Young-min), the lowest priced oil company, recorded the lowest price at 1,479.9 won per liter, down 13.5 won from the previous week, and diesel price was the lowest at 1,279.5 won, down 0.2 won.
Meanwhile, international oil prices in the third week of June are on the rise due to factors such as heightened expectations for a US interest rate easing earlier in the week, a decrease in weekly commercial crude oil inventories, and the EU’s agreement on the 11th round of sanctions once morest Russia.
