Gartner reveals its strategic trends for 2023 at its IT Symposium.
Without too many surprises, the analysis firm focuses first on securing information systems.
“Gartner believes immunizing IT systems will reduce downtime by up to 80% and drive revenue growth”said David Groombridge, vice president and analyst at Gartner, in a press release.
The firm also advises to move towards “applied observability”i.e. to adapt the IT supervision and optimization methods “to the whole company”.
It also presents the concept of AI TRISM, concerning the management of trust, risk and security in artificial intelligence systems. This in order to “reduce risks, promote acceptance of AI systems and derive benefits”.
In addition, Gartner observes the emergence of vertical clouds offering a combination of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions, the concomitant use of various wireless technologies (WiFi, LTE (4G and 5G), LoRaWAN, BLE, Zigbee, Enocean), the emergence of ‘superapps’ – applications bringing together an ecosystem of partners with whom publishers share user data – and “Adaptive Artificial Intelligence” to help machine learning systems overcome difficulties.
Finally, Gartner concludes with the most important: the application of ESG principles (environmental, social and governance criteria): “Sustainable technologies are the key to reducing emissions and optimizing your activities”warns David Groombridge.
