Garmin Epix Gen 2 test: the Amoled screen at the service of an ultra-complete sports watch

Like all Garmin watches, the Epix Gen 2 works in concert with the Garmin Connect app (Android and iOS). A particularly comprehensive application that provides data collected from its home screen in the form of widgets that can be organized as we see fit.

There is also a summary of the past day as well as the last 7 days, in order to check if we have reached our objectives. All activities are grouped in a calendar accessible via the third tab of the application.

Competition enthusiasts will be able to win badges and compete with their friends, the second tab of the app corresponding to the challenges. This section is nevertheless reserved for our personal contacts. We would have liked to find official sports competitions there with an opening to the outside world.

The social aspect of the application is also found in the “Flux” tab which allows us to follow the activities of our contacts who also use Garmin Connect.

As for the purely sporting part, there are training programs such as Garmin Coach, to set distance and performance goals in running, for example, or PacePro to establish a pace strategy reach.

The Epix Gen 2 is also compatible with Garmin Golf and Garmin Dive (diving) and supports applications available in the Garmin Connect IQ store.
