The latest update for Garmin’s multisport smartwatches is version number 20.30 for fÄ nix 6 and Marq series.
The update might be interpreted as preparation for an upcoming release of the fÄ nix 7 series, since Garmin has equipped the watches with many innovations and also integrated new sports such as padel tennis or snowshoeing into the update.
With the software version 20.30, new cycling variants are also available for the watches, so that tours with gravel bikes and e-bikes can also be provided with their own profile in the future. During a round of golf, the activity can now be easily interrupted and resumed, and with the latest update, the sensors should offer better altitude measurement. In addition, users are now warned if an accurate measurement of oxygen saturation is not possible due to the strong movement of the watch.
Garmin claims to have further improved the user experience with minor adjustments to the user interface and the display of oxygen saturation. The latest firmware is now available to all users and can be installed either manually or by syncing the watch with the Garmin Express app.
The new Garmin fÄ nix 7 series might be presented later this month and is expected to go on sale for around 800 euros. A special solar variant of the watch is also planned for a surcharge of around 100 euros. The current Garmin fÄ nix 6X is offered for around 530 euros and the price might drop a bit following the release of the new series.
