Gareth Bale’s move to Los Angeles perfect

Welsh football star Gareth Bale continues his career with US club Los Angeles FC in the North American professional league MLS. As the LAFC announced on Monday, the 32-year-old attacker will receive a one-year contract with an option for another season.

“I’m delighted,” said Bale of his move to the Western Conference leaders: “This is the right place for me and my family and the right time in my career. I can’t wait to work with the team and myself Prepare to win more trophies in Los Angeles.”

Bale switched from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid nine years ago for the then world record fee of 100 million euros, but he hardly played a role there anymore. The striker’s previous working papers with the Champions League winners expire on June 30, and he can play for LAFC from July 1.

Most recently, there was speculation about a move to his hometown of Cardiff and even about the star player’s career ending soon. However, Bale has secured a ticket for the 2022 Winter World Cup in Qatar with Wales.

The 32-year-old is the second top-class transfer from the team of head coach Steven Cherundolo, club icon of Hannover 96, this summer. The club had previously confirmed the signing of Italian European soccer champion Giorgio Chiellini.
