Gareth Bale ends his career at 33

Gareth Bale has ended his club and selection career with ‘immediate’ effect. At 33, the Welshman said stop after 17 professional seasons.

“After careful consideration, I am announcing my immediate retirement from club and national football,” wrote the former Real Madrid winger, five-time Champions League winner, who ended his career on his Twitter account. MLS title with Los Angeles FC.

Trained at Southampton, revealed at the highest level at Tottenham and crowned at Real Madrid, Gareth Bale will remain as one of the greatest Welsh players in history. He played three finals with his selection, the last in Qatar for a 2022 World Cup which will not leave him with great memories unlike Euro 2016 which saw Wales climb into the last four.

Capable of scoring fabulous goals, Garet Bale has paid in recent years for a dilettantism that he did not really try to hide. His all-consuming passion for golf hampered his end of career.
