A road drama occurred on the A9 this Sunday, September 4, at Roquemaure.
A serious road accident occurred this Sunday, September 4 on the A9 motorway in Roquemaure. The Gard firefighters intervened to rescue a motorcyclist, the only one involved in this accident, around 7 p.m., in the Orange-Nîmes direction.
Significant resources were dispatched to the scene to rescue the victim: a road rescue detachment made up of an ambulance, an extrication vehicle, a command vehicle and a medical team from SMUR Orange”.
When the firefighters arrived, the victim, a 53-year-old man, was in absolute emergency. “Despite their rapid action, the motorcyclist was declared dead by the SMUR Orange doctor on site,” the firefighters said.
The freeway exit was closed to traffic. The circumstances of the accident were not disclosed.
