Ganjar Pranowo Talks Central Java and Jakarta Elections – Harianjogja.com

Central Java Gubernatorial Race Heats Up: Close Contest Expected

Former Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, has expressed optimism for the electability of both candidate pairs in the upcoming Central Java gubernatorial election.

A Tight Race in Central Java

Speaking on Wednesday, Ganjar noted that the competition between the Andika-Hendi duo and the Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin Maimoen (Gus Yasin) pair presents a close and balanced race.

“If I look at the final position, the situation is really balanced. Central Java is proving itself to be an equally balanced province,” Ganjar stated in Sleman.

He pointed out that recent surveys reflect this tight contest, with each candidate pair sometimes leading by a narrow margin depending on the specific poll.

“One survey might have one pair winning by a small margin, while another might show the other pair slightly ahead. But overall, it’s a very tight contest,” he added.

Despite this close competition, Ganjar remains enthusiastic about the potential of the Andika-Hendi pair to secure victory. He acknowledged that while there used to be a larger gap in electability, the latest surveys indicate a much narrowed difference.

“God willing, they will win. It’s been a short time, and they’ve managed to match the other pair’s standings. It’s excellent, even though they’re not far ahead yet,” he remarked.

Pramono-Rano Duo Eyeing One-Round Victory in Jakarta

Turning to the Jakarta gubernatorial election, Ganjar voiced similar confidence in the PDIP-backed Pramono-Rano pair.

Given Pramono-Rano’s strong performance, Ganjar believes that other parties will need to step up their campaigns to catch up.

“This is a contest that is shaping up to be quite exciting. It seems like there is a lot of momentum behind Mas Pramono, and other parties will need to balance the scales,” he commented.

Ganjar is so confident in their chances that he believes a one-round victory is achievable.

“We are optimistic that, hopefully, it will be a single round win in Jakarta,” he stressed

The close races in both Central Java and Jakarta promise to keep Indonesian politics engaging, with the outcome remaining uncertain until the final votes are counted.

How might national election fatigue in Indonesia,‍ as discussed in [[1](https://www.dw.com/en/is-indonesia-experiencing-election-fatigue/a-70899761)], impact voter ‍turnout ‍in the Central‍ Java gubernatorial election?

## Central Java Governor Race: A Neck-and-Neck Battle?

**Interviewer:** Welcome back⁣ to the show! Today we’re discussing the upcoming Central Java gubernatorial election, which is shaping up‍ to be a very interesting race. Joining us to break down ‍the latest⁤ developments is [Guest Name], a‍ political analyst specializing in Indonesian⁣ politics. Thanks for being here.

**Guest:** Thanks for having me!

**Interviewer:** So, ‍ [Guest Name], former ⁣Central Java Governor Ganjar⁣ Pranowo recently commented on the race, saying it’s “really balanced.” What’s‌ your take on the ‌current state⁤ of the competition?

**Guest:** Ganjar is right,⁢ this ‍race is incredibly tight. We⁣ have two strong candidate pairs: the⁣ Andika-Hendi duo, and ⁢the Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin Maimoen, or Gus Yasin, ‌team. Both have strong ‌support⁤ bases⁢ and⁣ compelling platforms. It’s truly a neck-and-neck race at⁤ this point.

**Interviewer:** Interesting. Do you think voter ⁢enthusiasm is high for this election, particularly considering reports of election fatigue in Indonesia after the recent presidential election? [[1](https://www.dw.com/en/is-indonesia-experiencing-election-fatigue/a-70899761)]

**Guest:** That’s a crucial point. ⁢While there might be some fatigue after the presidential election, the ⁣gubernatorial race ⁢in Central ‍Java is highly localized. Voters are engaged ⁤with the ‍specific issues facing ⁣their province,⁣ and the candidates are⁣ focusing on⁢ those concerns. So, while there might be ⁢some national‌ fatigue, I don’t expect it to significantly impact‍ turnout in Central ‌Java.

**Interviewer:** So, viewers can ⁢expect a‍ closely contested election, perhaps even down to the wire?

**Guest:** ‌Absolutely. It’s going to be a fascinating race to watch. Both sides ⁤have strong campaigns, and the outcome ⁤could⁣ truly come down‌ to the ‌final days before the vote.

**Interviewer:** Thank you so much ‌for your insights, [Guest Name].‍ This is‌ definitely an election we’ll be ⁢keeping ⁤our eyes on!
