Executive Director of the Indonesian Public Institute (IPI) Karyono Wibowo appreciates the decision of the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri to include the names of Adian Napitupulu to Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok in the management of the PDIP DPP for the 2019-2024 term.
Apart from Adian and Ahok, names such as Ganjar Pranowo were also appointed as the Chairman of the PDIP DPP.
“Of course, the inclusion of names such as Ganjar, Ahok and Adian is expected to improve PDIP’s performance in realizing future party programs,” said Karyono as reported by Antara, Friday (5/7).
He also believes that Megawati has gone through careful consideration before issuing the decision. According to him, Megawati has also seen various track records of new names that have been included in the PDIP management structure.
“In choosing the party leader, Megawati certainly considers aspects of quality, capability, loyalty and integrity. The competency aspect is also an important consideration,” he said.
“For example, Adian has the ability to organize student movement activists and other civil society groups to provide assistance on matters directly related to the interests of the people,” he continued.

Previously, the General Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan DPP Megawati Soekarnoputri inaugurated Ganjar Pranowo as the Chairperson of the DPP for Government and Regional Autonomy and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok as the Chairperson of the DPP for the Economy.
The inauguration took place at the Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Friday (5/7).
Deddy Sitorus was also inaugurated as the Head of the PDI Perjuangan DPP for the Executive Election Winning Sector.

Furthermore, Ronny Talapessy as Head of the National Legal System Reform Division and Adian Napitupulu as Deputy Secretary General of the PDI Perjuangan DPP for Communications.
This inauguration coincided with the extension of the PDI Perjuangan DPP management until 2025.
Those whose terms of office were extended were the old administrators, including Megawati’s children Prananda Prabowo and Puan Maharani. There were also Hasto Kristiyanto, Olly Dondokambey, Bambang Wuryanto, and Said Abdullah.
