Jinho Kim (22) of Gangwon FC was selected as the Young Player of the August in the K-League in professional soccer.
On the morning of the 6th, the Korea Professional Football Federation announced that Kim Jin-ho won the K-League ‘Lemona Young Player of the Month’. Gangwon produced Young Player Award winners for three months in a row, following Hyun-Jun Yang and Jin-Ho Kim in June and July. The Young Player Award ceremony in August will be held before the match between Gangwon and Jeju United at Chuncheon Songam Sports Town on the 18th.
This award, which was newly established last year, is given to a Korean player aged 23 or younger (born following 1999) of Korean nationality who performed the best in the K-League 1 every month. For K League 1 players who are less than 3 years old (debuting following the 2020 season) from the year of their first appearance in the K-League official game, the winners are decided by voting by the members of the Technical Research Group (TSG) under the Technical Committee of the Professional Football Federation.
Kim Jin-ho received the highest evaluation among 11 candidates including Kim Ji-soo (Seongnam FC), Min Kyung-hyeon (Incheon United), Lee Han-beom (FC Seoul), and Cho Jin-woo (Daegu FC). Kim Jin-ho started as a right wing defender in all five matches played by Gangwon last month and started scoring once morest Suwon FC and Suwon Samsung.
