Gangneung Citizens Action Rep. Kwon Seong-dong calls for the resignation of the floor leader

“There is unfairness in hiring and there is illegality… I need to apologize to the youth of the country and the citizens of Gangneung”

On the 18th, Gangneung Citizens’ Action Committee urged “Recruitment corruption lawmaker Kwon Seong-dong apologize to the youth and Gangneung citizens across the country and immediately resign as acting party leader and floor leader.”

In a statement released on the same day, the Gangneung Citizens’ Action Committee said, “The recruitment of Mr. Woo, who was personally recommended by Kwon Seong-dong, a member of the Gangneung constituency lawmaker and acting and floor leader of the People’s Power Party, is not only unfair, but also has the potential to be illegal.” he claimed as such.

In particular, the group emphasized, “A thorough investigation should be carried out on the timing of recommending Mr. Woo, the type of solicitation, the impact on recruitment, and the suspicion of large donations in accordance with the Public Officials Conflict of Interest Prevention Act.”

He also said, “Rep. Kwon should apologize and apologize to young people, low-paid workers, and Gangneung citizens who are having a hard time finding employment.”

The Gangneung Citizens’ Action Committee further urged, “Rep. Kwon Seong-dong, who poured out harsh words instead of an apology and reflection following strict private recruitment and preferential hiring, immediately resigned as the ruling party’s acting representative and floor leader, along with an apology to the public.”

Previously, Kwon, acting representative of the party and floor leader, revealed that he recommended Mr. Woo in response to the controversy over ‘private recruitment’ surrounding Mr. Woo, a 9th-level administrative worker who works in the Presidential Office’s Senior Office for Social Affairs. It is a frame designed to mislead people who do not know anything about it.”
