The coach of the “Matador”, Javier Gandolfi, He left his analysis of the defeat of his team by 1-2 against Vélez at the Mario Alberto Kempes, for the sixth date of the Professional Football League (LPF).
The coach highlighted the rival’s hierarchy and emphasized how complicated the game became after Portillo’s expulsion in the first minutes of the initial stage: “When we were left with one less clearly it became more difficult for us. We had to order the team against an opponent that generates a lot of game volume, and we did that from behind to forward”.
Regarding the tactical change and the departure of Garro, the coach expressed: “We considered with my coaching staff that, although Garro is a very dedicated player, modifying his game because he is not used to doing anything else would not bring us good results”.
But despite the defeat, Gandolfi drew several positive points and assured that he was “proud” of the team. “It’s wonderful when your team tries with all its might to fight against the adversity that arises,” he stressed.
And he added: “In the first half we made some mistakes and that’s why we went down two at halftime, but in the complementary time we improved a lot with the changes and another game scheme and we were really close to drawing it.”
Finally, regarding the youngsters from the quarry who had to enter, the coach was very clear: “I see them train every day and if I see that they are well, they are always an option for them to enter and add minutes.”
