Unfortunately, it’s not just great games that will define us in 2023, but the fact that the gaming industry is seeing massive layoffs. This includes Sony letting people leave several of their studios, even the most prestigious ones like Bungie and Naughty Dog. But it seems they’re not done yet, and following the leaks that hit Insomniac this week, we now know there’s rumors they’ll have to get rid of people, too.
To make matters worse, an unnamed studio appears to be in danger as well.Leaked documents show that at a meeting on November 9, it was determined “A studio will be closed“. This was over a month ago and luckily nothing has happened yet, so maybe plans have changed, but when My city Sony did not want to comment when contacted for this story.
We can only speculate which studio it is, but one possible candidate is Media Molecule, which laid off around 20 people in October. Their dream shut down prematurely, and before that, they launched Tearaway Unfolded, which unfortunately became a commercial failure. Currently, the studio has not announced any games.
