The trend in the video game industry is to grow through acquisitions and it’s Fandom’s turn to follow suit.

This site, which arrived on the web during the 2000s under the name Wikia, brings together a large community that shares on subjects such as cinema or, of course, video games.
Now the company has new strings to its bow, as it has landed its hands on sites like GameSpot, Metacritic, GameFaqs and Giant Bomb!

According to the Wall Street Journal, the sum of $55 million was disbursed so that Fandom would add all these sites to its fold. Red Ventures, which still owns the CNET site, among others, owned it.
With these top-notch additions, the company continues to expand its tentacles in the entertainment world, which in recent months has also been sniffing out sites like Screen Junkies and Gamepedia.
