Geoff Keighley told us to keep our expectations in check for big announcements on Gamescom Opening Night Live. Instead, we’ll likely see more games we already know about, giving us updates. In an interview with VGC, Keighley said that Opening Night Live “will be an exciting show with a new look at many of the upcoming titles that will be announced, such as Alan Wake 2 and Black Myth Wukong. This year’s ONL Instead of announcing brand new projects, fans will be given an update on some of the biggest games coming next year. Fans will no doubt have high expectations for the show, as it will be the first in-person event since 2019 .However, Keighley spoke about how the show presented challenges. “First, our team in Los Angeles faced logistical challenges producing a large exhibition in Cologne, Germany. Thankfully, Gamescom and Kolnemesse are great partners,” he said. Another challenge – but also an opportunity – is that the show is directly related to the partners and games that will be on display at Gamescom.
