Caseking did not have its own booth at gamescom 2022, EA was conspicuous by its absence and Nintendo was also absent. All that is regarding to change with the next edition of the gaming show, gamescom 2023, this August.
As the organizers announced in a press release, gamescom 2023 has already seen a 10% increase in the number of registered companies from 39 different countries compared to the previous year’s deadline.
This year’s national pavilions will include Brazil (gamescom 2023 partner country), Belgium, Canada, China, France, Great Britain, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Spain, South Korea and the United States.
However, the organizers have not yet revealed which exhibitors have already announced their participation in the show. This will be announced later, they say.
“Without going into details, I promise that the community can rejoice in one or another big business, which was suspended once more last year. At the same time, we already have among us well-known market leaders in the new operator segments announced for 2023 – such as streaming or table games –,” says Oliver Frese, Managing Director and COO of Koelnmesse.
The increased interest in the early bird phase should of course ideally also attract large companies and it is therefore hoped that many well-known publishers and development studios will be represented at Gamescom 2023.
However, it will likely be some time before they confirm or cancel their participation. Last year, most cancellations only came regarding a month before the show started, when many visitors had already reserved their tickets.
