Gamer’s Day, celebrated every August 29, has its origins in an initiative of the main specialized video game magazines in Spain: Hobby Consolas, PlayManía and PCManía. In 2008, these publications decided to create a day dedicated to gamers, with the aim of uniting the gamer community and highlighting its cultural and economic importance.

The date was chosen symbolically, without a specific historical reason, but with the intention of establishing an annual day where players and the industry would be recognized.

Since then, Gamer’s Day has gained popularity and is celebrated in various countries, where gamers share their passion, organize events and reflect on the impact of video games on society.
