Gamegenic presented the new products from the accessories segment for the coming months at SPIEL’24 in Essen. In addition to products specifically tailored to the Altered and Star Wars Unlimited brands, there will be useful items for those who have to handle larger quantities of cards.

Gamegenic is Asmodee’s in-house accessories specialist. Depending on the licensed game, Gamegenic has a different portfolio of accessories. The main focus of the house brands is currently on Star Wars Unlimited, but Gamegenic is also working on the new Altered, a beginner-friendly trading card game with a digital twist, and has released its own line of useful tools. Equinox’s trading card game includes an adventure bar, premium tokens and acrylic hero standees, play mats, deck boxes and sorting albums as well as card sleeves – all in the Altered design. If you have a particularly large collection, you can store your treasures under the card boxes in the card box called “Cards’ Lair Pro 1000+”.

The Gamegenic motto also applies to the accessories for Altered: It has to be practical. This is especially true of the Deck Wallet, which offers space for cards and tokens in equal measure – just as we previously knew from the boxes for Star Wars Unlimited. The accessory manufacturer remains true to its line, bringing modern and often innovative products onto the market, the details of which often make a difference. In Altered, this becomes obvious through the standees, tokens and the “Adventure Track” bar: In the otherwise plain card game, the beginnings of a board game experience can be felt in the structures. This should particularly appeal to beginners, which is exactly where the target group of the new trading card game is anyway, which is all about discovery and not about making monsters.

So far, Gamegenix has had something new to present at every major trade fair. The SPIEL’24 in Essen is no exception: several product lines are being expanded Game Castle There is also a combination of a game case and the token silos already established by Gamegenic in the portfolio. The accessories are primarily used to store trading cards and associated tokens. The inserts can be arranged differently and therefore changed. “If you take out all the inlays, you can also use the case to store smaller board games,” explains Gamegenic marketing manager Tobias Franken.

The main trick of the Game Castle is that you can customize the function: The case can be used purely as a card box to sort the collection and store it clearly, and you can also use the accessories to carry decks and tokens around – in The product is expected to be released late fall.

Also new is the “Token Silo XL Convertible“, an enlarged and revised version of the token storage boxes already available. In addition to the size, the closure is the improvement here: “The Token-Silo XL has closures on all four sides,” explains Tobias Franken. This detail shows how Gamegenic is gradually optimizing the product design: The pressure is now distributed more evenly and the lid remains straight. The storage box will be available in stores from October 18th. The RRP price is 24.99 euros.

Gamegenic not only produces accessories for Asmodee’s own brands, but also caters to the needs of the market: Fans of Magic the Gathering will also find various boxes for individual decks as well as for storing the cards of multi-deck lovers or card collectors. Presented as new products at SPIEl’24, Gamegenic had the “Squire Plus 100+ XL Convertible“, a premium deck box for the Magic deck. In addition, with the “Sidekick Pro 100+ XL Convertible“ a similar model, which also has a token drawer.

Both models are further developments of the basic variants that had to do without a card slider. With the new releases, Gamegenic is based directly on the popular Commander format from Magic the Gathering and offers players useful improvements. Anyone who can live without a card window will at least get a new color variant for the Squire 100+ XL and Sidekick 100+ XL from December: sand. These two boxes are available in stores just in time for St. Nicholas Day.

It also became clear through SPIEL’24 that Gamegenic will continue to closely support Star Wars Unlimited and provide it with accessories. Accessories boss Adrian Alonso presented the XXL play mat for the Twin Suns multiplayer format, but at the same time emphasized that there is more to come. At the same time, Fantasy Flight Games will be organizing the trading card game differently from next year onwards, so fans could also have some surprises in terms of accessories.

The next step for Gamegenic is to roll out the accessories for Star Wars Unlimited parallel to the release of the third wave of cards. With the fall of the Republic, the 250+ new maps will be all about the Clone Wars. Gamegenic breaks out matching deck boxes, sleeves and play mats – just like you already know from the previous sets.
