Crashing riffs, blaring vocals and an invitation to headbang for hours – that’s what you usually expect from a good Thrash Metal band.

But that’s not all you can get out of this genre Game Over prove their new record this October Hellframes publish. In addition to what is described above, the Italians want to add a big pinch of punk and some melodic moments to their pieces, which alone seems promising in your head.

But the boys take it easy at first: the opener Visions is a mystical instrumental piece whose sounds are reminiscent of the soundtrack of great horror films such as Halloween lets come up. So a powerful tension builds up. And the fact that this doesn’t happen in vain will be shown later Call Of The Sirenin which you HERE can listen in. The song quickly stays in your head with its memorable hook line and can also convince with a brilliantly played solo.

Refreshing change

The Italian quartet knows how to skilfully present the listener with very varied music. Path Of Pain starts off calmly and leisurely, but then quickly turns into a smashing piece that knocks everyone out of their seats. The same can also be done from Count Your Breaths say what is embedded at the front and back by acoustic tones and in the middle can shine through creativity and, above all, brilliant solos.

Towards the end of the album it becomes… Synthetic Dreams once more a bit more punk, whereas My World Dies Screaming then it might be something for grunge fans: Game Over leave nothing to be desired here and jump over some genre boundaries.

An epic ending

The last song on Hellframes is then the title song of the same name, which comes as an eight-minute epic. Here, too, a similar song structure can be seen as in the rest of the album: the band builds up their songs carefully, often starting slowly and not rushing straight out, as we know from other bands in their genre.

The new album, which is their fifth, is also a small comeback from them as their first release since 2017 Game Over. The Thrashers not only got well-known support from the scene for videos, covers and production, but also achieved great things lyrically. Topic among others: An occult priest from the 15th century who is brought back to life through technology in the present and spreads great evil. This should probably convince even the last Thrasher to listen to this album.

Conclusion
Game Over
bid on their comeback Hellframes wild thrash metal that always encourages the listener to tap along to a catchy song pattern and even crosses genre boundaries at times. But the roots are never forgotten, so that an album is created that is really impressive. 8 / 10
