The CNC is piloting this system to strengthen the attractiveness of French studios to publishers and creators.

A single label to promote them all. The National Center for Cinema and Animated Images (CNC) unveiled the “Game France” system» which highlights national know-how in video games – and the associated tax systems. Objective, to attract capital but also talents, foreigners as well as French expatriates who might return to the country. “It is the continuity of policies already implemented in the audiovisual sector. They have allowed France to become a land for filming international films and series,” explains Figaro Pauline Augrain, digital director of the CNC.

France has a network of 600 studios, ranging in size from a handful of creatives to several hundred employees (Ubisoft, Dontnod, Asobo, etc.). Their productions enjoy international success. Sifu (Sloclap), Stray (Blue Twelve), A Plague Tale Requiem (Asobo) and Dune Spice Wars (Shiro Games) were nominated last year for the Game Awards, the video game Oscars.
