Vienna – 61 percent of the population are against the use of gender-appropriate language such as the gender star or colon in public administration. This is the result of a survey by the Gallup Institute with 2,000 respondents (September 19 to October 19, online and in person, representative of the Austrian population aged 16 and over). 39 percent say “political correctness” basically goes too far, 23 percent find it appropriate, and 26 percent would like more.
