New York Rangers coach Gerard Gallant told reporters his thoughts on rumors he might be fired on Wednesday.
Gallant clearly thought he deserved to keep his job – and didn’t find it right to be asked questions regarding it.
Well the management was clearly not of the same opinion because the latter has just been fired.
The 59-year-old took over as Rangers manager in June 2021, replacing David Quinn. Led the team to two consecutive 100+ point seasons with a combined 99-46-19 record
Prior to his move to the Rangers, Gallant coached the Columbus Blue Jackets, Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights for three seasons each. Gallant took the Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup Finals in their first season in 2017-18.
He was also the Canadiens’ assistant coach in 2012-13 while Michel Therrien was the head coach.
We bet he won’t be out of work for very long.
