“Galician Aeronautical and Aerospace Sector Shines at Xponential 2023 Event in Denver”

Santiago de Compostela, May 15, 2023 The Galician aeronautical and aerospace sector reinforces its presence in the US market thanks to its participation in Xponential 2023, one of the international benchmark events in the segment of unmanned vehicles and systems that was held last week in Denver (Colorado, United States). Joined).

Centum, the Technological Institute of Galicia, Sense Aeronautics de Gradiant and the Galician Aerospace Pole together with the Galician Aeronautical Consortium participated as exhibitors in the Spanish pavilion, promoted by Icex. Also present at Xponential Lupeon, Sixtema and Marine Instruments, agents of the Galician aerospace ecosystem; as well as Telespazio Ibérica, a partner of the Xunta in the initiative.

During the celebration of Xponential, more than 270 professionals and institutional representatives visited the Galician exhibition space, including a delegation from the State of Oklahoma; and the Aerospace Pole, the Galician Aeronautical Consortium, Centum, the Technological Institute of Galicia and Gradiant received 120 demonstrations of interest regarding their products and services.

The Galician delegation held meetings with representatives of administrations and companies in which the advances in R&D applied to unmanned vehicles developed in Galicia were presented and visited institutional spaces such as those of the states of Ohio, Colorado, Oklahoma, New York, Virginia, Kansas, California, Arizona, Maryland, or North Carolina. Its members also had the opportunity to learn regarding technologies of interest to the sector such as fuel cells for propulsion, mobility of electrical power systems, flight termination systems and simulators.

Within the framework of this fair, they visited the facilities of Jeppesen, a subsidiary of Boeing Global Services, in Denver; and participated in a joint reception at the Icex stand to the states of Colorado, Oklahoma, New York and Arizona.

A growing sector

The Galician aeronautical industry, with sustained growth in recent years, employs 3,854 professionals and obtained results of 410.2 million euros in operating income, according to data from the Annual Accounts of the Aeronautical Sector in Galicia 2015-2020 of the Observatory of the Aerospace Industry.
