Several thousand homes were still without electricity on Sunday at the end of the morning in Brittany and Normandy, following the gale that crossed the region during the day on Saturday, we learned from Enedis.
In Brittany, 3,500 households remained without electricity: 1,500 in Ille-et-Vilaine, 1,000 in Côtes-d’Armor, 500 in Finistère and 500 in Morbihan, according to the operator of the electricity distribution network. In Normandy, 1,800 customers were without electricity on Sunday morning, mainly in Manche (1,100) and Calvados (600).
Up to 15,000 households affected
In most cases, these power cuts are linked to “falling trees or branches on power lines”, the same source said. The return to normal should take place at the end of the day on Sunday, according to Enedis, which specifies that some “300 technicians and service providers” are still at work to restore the situation.
At the height of the gale on Saturday, “there were up to 15,000” homes without electricity and there were still 9,000 on Saturday night. Gusts of more than 100 km / h were recorded on Saturday over Brittany in the Channel and the Atlantic and, in Normandy, in particular on the Cotentin.
