The Galaxy Z Flip 5 reaches its fifth generation with new features in design and also in specifications. Could it be that this time we have a bigger generational leap than we saw in the previous model? Check out our review below.
Right off the bat, you can see that the Flip has evolved. The external screen is bigger and has improved usability, both for features and native apps, as well as the possibility of expanding support for other apps using Good Lock. The hinge has been improved and no longer has that gap between the two halves, making the Galaxy Z Flip more compact when closed.
The internal screen remains the same size, but brings a new generation of Samsung’s AMOLED panel that delivers stronger brightness. Unfortunately, it wasn’t this time that we saw the crease in the middle of the screen disappear and it may still bother some. The sound power is not the most powerful in the segment, but it guarantees a good experience with movies, games and music.
The new foldable comes equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 8 GB of RAM. This setting guarantees great performance with any app or game, but it didn’t make a noticeable difference in our multitasking-focused speed test. The battery continues with the same 3,700 mAh as before, but as the hardware is more efficient, we had a small gain in autonomy. Charging time takes more than 1 hour with the 25W charger.
The photographic set follows without news and the duo in the back still makes great photos. The front has an old Samsung sensor that is already outdated. The good news is that you can take advantage of the Flip’s flexibility to use the external cameras for selfies and get much better photos. It wasn’t this time that we saw the foldable film in 8K. Either way, you’ll get 4K quality videos with the Flip 5.
