Samsung should renew its folding line this year with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, models that may arrive in the 3rd quarter with evolutions in construction and internal hardware. As usual, the company has not released any details regarding the cell phones, but there are rumors and leaks that try to predict the technical and visual data of the devices.
According to recent speculations, the Flip variant should bring a 6.7-inch main screen and a significantly larger secondary display with 3.4″ instead of 1.9″ of the current generation. Despite the upgrade, the smartphone must maintain the same weight of 187 grams as the Galaxy Z Flip4, from 2022.
Insiders claim that the Galaxy Z Flip5 will have a dual sensor setup with a 12-megapixel main camera and an ultra-wide lens of the same resolution.
In the case of the Galaxy Z Fold5, the sturdiest foldable from the South Korean company should have a 7.6-inch internal screen and a 6.2-inch external one, weighing 254 grams — 9 grams less than the Fold4. is that Samsung focuses on improving the hinge mechanism and other internal components.
For now, there is still no information on availability and price, but there are rumors that point to the possibility of the Fold reaching the shelves in four versions.

Insider Yogesh Brar revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have the same number of sensors as their predecessors. While the first will come with a triple module, the second will have a double module.
Brar claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor. Apparently, the photographic set will be similar to that of the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus models.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will come with a 12-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Although the resolution is not as high as the Z Fold 5, the informant says that the sensors are new.

Foldables should also receive a new drop-shaped hinge, abandoning the existing U-shaped one, reducing the visibility of the crease. This mechanism is similar to the one present in OPPO Find N2 Flip.

In a post shared this week, the director of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Ross Young, revealed the possible colors of the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5.
According to the executive, people working in Samsung’s supply chain report that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be Officialized in four color options.
- Beige, Grey, Light Green and Light Pink
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be a little more “sober” and will only have three versions.
Ross Young also pointed out that Samsung should announce exclusive colors for those who buy the devices in its store, while some markets may also receive striking variants, such as red, for example.
It should be noted that the official launch of Samsung’s folding line is still relatively distant. With that, everything should be seen as just another rumor.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 must have new hinges to close completely
As foldable cell phones become more popular, manufacturers like Samsung are working on making this line even better.
Soon we will have the official announcement of the new Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, but while that doesn’t happen, new rumors regarding the devices keep popping up on the internet.
After the alleged information regarding the RAM and storage options of the foldables, the insider Ice Universe revealed on Twitter that one of the main differences of the new generation will be the hinges.
Samsung has opted for an innovative solution that will reduce the visibility of the crease in the center of the device. This transition will decrease the thickness of the Fold 5 from 15.8-14.2mm to approximately 13mm. Also, the two sides of the folding must close like a book, leaving no space between them.

The next foldables are expected to have almost identical dimensions to the current generation, with a difference of just 0.2 mm. The weight of the new Fold is also expected to be lighter, with 254 grams, nine grams less than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. In addition, the device’s external display will reportedly remain at 6.2 inches and will not undergo significant changes.
As for the Flip 5, the insider indicates that the device’s external screen is almost square and is 3.4 inches, so that external screen will take up most of the area. The Flip5’s internal screen will be narrower.
Among other novelties of the new generation, the insider points out that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a new touchscreen technology, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor, ISOCELL GN3 main camera sensor and IPX8 water resistance.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5: RAM and storage options leaked
Despite the launch being considered somewhat distant, the new Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 have already had some information released by people working on Samsung’s production line.
According to SamMobile reports, the new foldables should be announced with storage that can reach up to 1TB. Check out the available options for each device below:
- Galaxy Z Fold 5 — 256 GB, 512 GB e 1 TB
- Galaxy Z Flip 5 — 128 GB, 256 GB e 512 GB.
The 128 GB variant will be the only one to use UFS 3.1 storage chip, since the others must be equipped with UFS 4.0 technology.

Another important detail that deserves to be mentioned is the amount of RAM in the devices, which should start at 8 GB and reach up to 16 GB in the most expensive options.
Now, when it comes to the design of the devices, these sources claim that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be presented with an updated hinge to get rid of the crease on the screen for good.
More recent rumors also inform that the device will not have a dedicated slot for the S Pen.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will likely have a larger external display as a way to stand out from its newest competitors. Finally, both must be announced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and the chipset will be the same as Samsung uses in the Galaxy S23 line.
