Galaxy S24 Ultra: Samsung would stagnate in photos with only one minor change expected

2023-06-12 12:56:00

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of the best smartphones of the moment and offers a high quality experience on all levels. His successor is already starting to be talked regarding and everything indicates that the South Korean giant does not intend to change its winning formula. The Galaxy S24 Ultra would therefore retain most of its predecessor.

The leaker Ice Universe looked into the matter and was particularly interested in the photo part. According to a South Korean source that he does not name, this new model would once more ship the main Isocell HP2 200 megapixel sensor, but also the IMX 564 (12 Mpx) which fitted the ultra-wide-angle module. Same observation for the X3 telephoto lens, since the brand would still use the 12 Mpx IMX754.

The only change would ultimately concern the x10 telephoto module with periscopic zoom. Samsung would use a 12MP IMX754+ this time around. Once once more, the definition would be cropped to 10 Mpx. We don’t really know yet what this version stamped “+” might bring more than the standard IMX 754, but it’s a safe bet that the changes will be minimal. No information regarding the front sensor has leaked yet. One thing is certain, this new model should not start a revolution in photography.

A dangerous immobility?

As for the rest of the data sheet, the site Phone Arena specifies that the Chinese and American models should be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Exynos 2400 will take over in the other world markets. A news that will cringe, as they are decried compared to Qualcomm chips. The Galaxy S23 Ultra, whose price will inevitably have fallen, might become a better deal for many consumers.
