At present, when consumers buy a mobile phone, the shooting ability is often one of the main considerations. The Galaxy S series flagship, which has greatly improved its shooting ability in recent years, is said to have a major breakthrough next year. South Korean news site ETNews reported yesterday that Samsung Group is developing a 200MP camera for mobile phones, which will be used in the Galaxy S23 series, which will be launched next year.
The report mentioned that the group’s Samsung Electronics and Samsung Electro Mechanics develop and produce cameras for mobile phones at the same time. The former is responsible for 30% of the production and the latter is responsible for 70%. It is reported that Samsung Electronics has briefed key customers on the development and rollout roadmap of the 200MP camera, and the development process is said to have been completed last year.
Starting with the Galaxy S20 series in 2020 and continuing through the Galaxy S21 and S22 series, the top-of-the-line models feature 108MP cameras. Korean media believes that the increase in camera pixels means that the lens, memory, sensor and application processor must be simultaneously improved. Although Samsung intends to equip the Galaxy S23 Ultra to be released next year with a 200MP camera, it has not yet made a final decision.
