Galaxy M44 5G certified after passing Geekbench with Snapdragon 888

Samsung is preparing a new device in the M line, which should hit the market as the Galaxy M44 5G. Some weeks ago, the cell phone was listed on the Geekbench benchmarking platform with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chip.

Now, the cell phone has been approved by the Korean NRRA authority, confirming the presence of 5G connectivity, in addition to mentioning that it will be manufactured in Vietnam and South Korea.

The Korean variant of the Galaxy M44 5G has code SM-M446K and was listed on the official website of the regulatory body NRRA. It is expected to be launched as the successor to the Galaxy M34. There is no forecast for the launch, but it is likely to be in 2024.

A few months ago, the cell phone was listed on Geekbench with the codename “Lahaina”, 6 GB of RAM and the eight-core Snapdragon 888 platform. It has a maximum frequency of 2.84 GHz and Adreno 660 GPU.

It is made up of four cores at 1.8 GHz, three at 2.42 GHz and one at 2.84 GHz. In terms of the operating system, the tested device had Android 13. Unfortunately, other specifications were not disclosed.

The Galaxy M44 should be launched in several countries, such as South Korea, India and other regions. It is expected to have higher configurations than the Galaxy M34, which features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with support for a 120 HZ refresh rate.

It is available in two variants: 6 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage or 8 GB + 128 GB. Other configurations include a 6,000 mAh battery unit, support for 25W fast charging, triple camera module and Exynos 1280 platform.

Samsung is working on a new mid-range smartphone officially known as the Galaxy M44 5G. This is because the device ended up having its first specifications revealed in a benchmark test.

According to the preliminary Geekbench sheet, this device carries the number SM-M446K and highlights the presence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset.

Furthermore, the test device also has 6 GB of RAM and already runs Android 13 natively.

As a result, the set achieved 1531 points in the single-core test and 3771 points in the multi-core.

As for the other details of the Galaxy M44 5G, unfortunately Samsung does not comment on the leak and there is not much information regarding this model in the leak channels.

Still, taking into account the Korean manufacturer’s tradition, we should expect the Galaxy M44 5G to be sold initially in India. In addition, it may also have a 120 Hz AMOLED screen and a 50 MP main camera.

Other expected specifications include dual-band Wi-Fi, stereo sound, 5,000 mAh battery with support for charging up to 25W and One UI 5.1 running on top of the operating system.
