Galaxy M34: good 5G cell phone with average performance, battery and camera | Analysis / Review

The Galaxy M34 is a more affordable option from Samsung for those looking for a cell phone with a giant battery. There are 6,000 mAh to handle any task, but is this the only asset of the Korean model?

The design is simple, but in line with other Samsung launches this year. At the rear we only have the three camera rings without a protruding block. On the front, however, there is still the old teardrop-shaped notch, which should have already been abolished in intermediate models.

The 6.5-inch screen has a 120 Hz Super AMOLED panel that delivers a good level of brightness, vibrant colors and a wide viewing angle. There is no advanced HDR technology here like HDR10+ or Dolby Vision and the sound is only mono, limited to the single speaker at the bottom.

Performance is due to the Exynos 1280 chip, a slightly lower version of the Exynos 1380 present in other Samsung intermediaries. Performance is good and even with 6 GB of RAM it is possible to use several apps at the same time without excessive slowdowns or choking. The battery lasts a long time and lasted 32 hours in our moderate test, but the 15W charger takes more than 2 hours to fill it completely.

The photographic set consists of a 50 MP camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera and a 2 MP macro camera. The main one takes good photos, while the wider one only suffers in low-light locations. The macro is practically unnecessary as it has a weak sensor and does not come with autofocus. The front might be better, while the camcorder records in 4K and makes good videos with agile focusing, efficient stabilization and good sound capture.
