Samsung expands LE Audio capabilities, including more immersive audio recording on smartphones, clearer sound experiences on PCs, and now sharing audio on TVs with more people

Samsung Electronics announced new software updates for Galaxy Buds2 Pro earbuds and Samsung smart TVs[1], overhauling the audio experience for even more connected devices. The new updates extend LE Audio’s capabilities to Samsung TVs with Auracast streaming audio technology, enabling rich and complex audio transmission to nearby Bluetooth devices.

LE Audio, an industry-leading Bluetooth audio standard, expands the spectrum of audio experiences to deliver more complex, richer sound that goes beyond the best possible musical sound to allow users to share it with others as they do experience it themselves. A pioneer in innovative technologies, Samsung leverages new LE Audio features that elevate sound experiences even further, including 360 Audio Recording, allowing Galaxy smartphone users to capture video audio exactly as they hear it without professional equipment. Additionally, some Galaxy Book3 devices[2] deliver a crystal-clear listening experience with improved latency — perfect for immersive gaming and media consumption.

And now, Auracast streaming audio technology for Galaxy Buds2 Pro earbuds and Samsung QLED Neo 8K 2023 and MICRO DEL 2023 TVs rolling out via software updates starting in September[3], Samsung elevates and expands connected experiences beyond mobile devices to home appliances. With Auracast, users can turn their device into a shared radio station that can stream to connected devices. Now leveraging LE Audio, users can connect multiple sets of earbuds to a TV[4] whereas they could connect at most two before. Auracast opens the door to a variety of device use cases and possibilities — from augmented and functional listening in a theater or lecture hall for those who want to hear better to sharing a playlist on your smartphone while you run with friends, or even multilingual support without a translation device by sending translations in various languages in various channels.

“As an innovator of a wide range of electronic devices — from smartphones to connected devices and from TVs to appliances — our position here at Samsung is unique in that we can deliver easier and broader experiences,” declared Junho Park, Vice President and Head of Galaxy Ecosystem Product Planning Team, MX Business of Samsung Electronics. “LE Audio is a perfect example and testament to our commitment to connected experiences across our entire range of devices and how Samsung is introducing capabilities and technologies that bring them together. »
